About the Derwent Tavern and Vantage Group:

 

Derwent Tavern is a part of the Vantage Group operating across Tasmania through community-based hotels, employing over 400 people state-wide. The Vantage Group comprises 12 venues around Tasmania, which provide a combination of bar, gaming, bistro, accommodation, and entertainment services to our customers. Established in 1999, Vantage Group is all about creating good times and our vision is to be the first choice in community pubs.

 

What you can expect in a day in the role:

 

Get ready for a fun and dynamic role! As a food and Beverage attendant, you will be pouring delicious drinks for our guests, engaging with our gaming patrons by answering their questions ensuring they're having a great time, and delivering fantastic customer service to all of our guests.

To succeed in this position, you will have:                                                      

  • Exceptional customer service skills, preferably gained from previous experience working in gaming/hospitality.
  • Reliability and the flexibility to work a variety of night and weekend shifts which may include public holidays.
  • A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate and a current Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG) Certificate.

 

What you’ll bring to the role:

 

We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, initiative, and a team player mindset, as well as:

  • Cash handling proficiency
  • Knowledge of all gaming machine regulations, compliance, operations, and procedures
  • An understanding of food & beverage products and services
  • A professional & mature “can do” attitude with the ability to work autonomously
  • A “can do” attitude with the ability to take initiative

An appointee to this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
